Цель урока: способствовать формированию коммуникативной компетенции, в частности
социокультурного компонента учащихся по средствам темы «Достопримечательности Лондона»
Развивающий аспект: Формирование самостоятельно и мотивировано организовывать
свою
познавательную деятельность, работать с разными источниками информации, дальнейшее
формирование умения работать в группах, используя технологию обучения сотрудничеству,
развитие мотивации к дальнейшему овладению иноязычной культуры.
Воспитательный аспект: Воспитание у обучающихся интереса к изучению поликультуры на основе
использования ИКТ.
Учебный аспект: Дальнейшее совершенствование навыков говорения (монологического
высказывания), актуализация и проверка знаний учащихся по данной теме, выявление степени
усвоения учебного материала.

Ход урока
1. Организационный момент
T.: Good morning, students. I am glad to see you. I hope you are all felling well. I think we can start
our lesson.
Who is on duty today?
-Who is absent?
What date is it today?
What day of the week is it today? Thank you for helping. Sit down.
2.Введение в тему урока. Фонетическая зарядка
T.: Please look at the screen and answer the question where can you see these places?

CL: In London
T.:That’s right! They all are in London and they are London sights. Today we’ll see what you know
about London and how well do you know London sights. The topic of our lesson is London sights.
As I remember all of you like travelling. Today we are going to continuo our journey to Great Britain
and visit its capital London.
But first of all, fill in gap self-assessment My level of knowledge about London’s sights at the
beginning of the lesson.(приложение №1)
Look at the screen, match these names and read. (слайд №2) Now match the pictures with their
names. You find these names in double-decker. (слайд №3)(T-P1P2P3)

T.: Now you may start our virtual excursion along the streets of London. By the way you’ll work as
guides. The key words and word combinations give you the necessary information about famous
sights of the British capital (T-CL)

T.: Make 4 groups of 5 pupils
Task 1 Scan the information. Find out and write the short answer to these questions. You have 5

London.
London is the capital of Scotland. It is very large and old. London is 1 hundred years old. More than 1
million people live here. London stands on the river Clyde. London is a port and a beautiful city with
large squares and parks. The Clyde is not a long river. London taxes are grey. There are only two
museums in London. The symbol of London is Big Ben. It is a man. There are many interesting places.
Tourists like to visit the Tower. They can see many dinosaurs there. Children like to visit London Zoo. It
is not very big, but interesting. Hyde park is the home of London Zoo. You can see the statue of Peter
Pen in Kensington Gardens.

On the bank of the River Thames you can see the Houses of Parliament. It is also called the Palace of
Westminster. Now it is the seat of the British Parliament. The Houses of Parliament have two towers: the
Clock Tower “Big Ben” and the Victoria Tower with the British flag on the top. Big Ben is really a big bell
Buckingham Palace is the place where British kings and queens live when they are in London. Important
visitors often go to the Palace and meet Queen Elizabeth and the royal family. A lot of tourists come to
Buckingham Palace every day to see the Changing of the Guards
Trafalgar Square is the center of modern London. The Nelson’s Column stands in the middle of it. There
are also two large fountains here. Many Londoners and tourists like to have a rest here and enjoy the sight.
The National Gallery is not far from here.
The Tower of London is the oldest monument in London. It has a long and cruel history. It is a group of
buildings: the White Tower, the oldest part of the Tower of London, and the Bloody Tower which has a
history of blood. Now it is a museum of armor.
Westminster Abbey is a symbol of England. It was built in 1065. The coronation of all British Kings and
Queens takes place here. Some famous English people are also buried here.
The Tower Bridge was built in 1894. It is one of the famous bridges across the Thames. It is next to the
Tower of London. You can also see Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament from Westminster Bridge. It
opens and ships go up and down the River Thames.
