Тема: "Лондон - столица Великобритании".

Цели урока:
Познавательный аспект – знакомство со столицей Великобритании, ее
достопримечательностями.
Развивающий
аспект
–
развитие
способности
к
догадке,
коммуникабельности, способность осуществлять репродуктивные и
продуктивные речевые действия.
Воспитательный аспект – воспитание уважительного, толерантного
отношения к чужой культуре.
Учебный аспект – активизация навыков аудирования; совершенствование
навыков грамматики и диалогической речи;
развитие умения читать с
охватом общего содержания.
Оснащение урока: компьютер, мультимедиа.

Ход урока
1. Организационный момент
 Good morning, children!
 I am glad to see you. (So we are.)
 Sit down please.
2. Речевая разминка
 Who is on duty today?
 Who is absent?
 What is the date today?
 What is the day of the week today?
 What days of the week do you know?
 What is the weather like today?
 What season is it now?
 What spring months do you know?
 Thank you! Sit down, please.
3. Фонетическая зарядка
 We start our lesson with the English sounds. You will work in pairs
and remember three words with each sound. (задание для учащихся
назвать звук и три английских слова с этим звуком).

Look at this screen. It is the theme of our lesson.
Учащиеся читают тему урока “ Welcome to the capital of Great
Britain”
Today we’ll talk about the capital of the UK, read about some of the
famous sights and then you will check your knowledge, make our own
dialogues.
5. Развитие навыков аудирования ( прослушивание аудиозаписи.)
You read the dialogue at the last lesson. I want you to listen it once
more and then answer my questions. Now open your books. Page 60,
Exercise 1.
Учащиеся прослушивают диалог из упражнения № 1, с. 60-61 из
учебника и отвечают на следующие вопросы учителя по содержанию
диалога.
Вопросы учителя:
 What country is Lisa from? (She is from Great Britain).
 How long will she stay in Russia? (She will stay in Russia for two
days).
 Does she like Moscow? (Yes, she does. She likes Moscow).
 Does Lisa think that Moscow is different from London? (Yes, she
does. She thinks that Moscow is different from London).
 Has Oleg been to London? (No, he hasn’t. He hasn’t been to London).
 Does Lisa like London? How can we prove it? (She likes London. She
says that it’s one of the most famous and interesting cities in Europe.
Lisa says London is one of her favourite cities).
 What places can a person visit in London? (There are a lot of places
to visit in London: museums, art galleries, theatres, cinemas, parks
and stadiums).
 Does Lisa live in London? (No, she doesn’t. She lives not far from
London).

 Welcome to the capital of Great Britain. You have a great opportunity
to visit one of the most ancient and beautiful cities in the world.
Прочтите и будьте готовы выполнить задания по текстам. Просмотр
слайдов – достопримечательностей Лондона.
Тексты:
Trafalgar Square
Teacher: Trafalgar Square is in the centre of the west End of London. On the
column in the centre there is a stature of Admiral Nelson who defeated the
French at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Trafalgar Square is the place where the
meetings and demonstrations take place.( слайды 3-4 pupil read)
Buckingham Palace
Teacher: It’s the London home of the Queen. When the flag is flying on the top
she is at home. Buckingham Palace was built for John, first Duke of
Buckingham, in1703. Changing the guards takes place there. The palace is open
to public. (слайды 5-7 pupil read)
Westminster Abbey and Cathedral.
Teacher: Westminster Abbey has been closely connected with the Crown
over 900 years. The Abbey was rebuilt in the 11 th century by a king Edward the
Confessor. The Abbey contains monuments to monarchs. It is the meeting place
for Parliament from the 14th to the 16th centuries. (слайды 8-10 pupil read)
Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
Teacher: Houses of Parliament stands on the River Thames at Westminster. It
begun in 1840 after a Great Fire of London. It is a place where the British
Government sits. It consists of three parts: the Royal Apartments, the House of
Lords and the House of Commons It is officially known as the Palace of
Westminster. The complex includes the 320 foot high Clock Tower. It contains

The Tower of London and Tower Bridge
Teacher: The Tower has been part of the capital’s history for the past 900
years. The fortress first built by William the Conqueror as a citadel, royal
palace, seat of the government. The Tower now protects the Crown Jewels

St Paul’s Cathedral
St Paul’s Cathedral is the spiritual centre of the City. Old Saint Paul’s was
destroyed by the Great Fire of London in 1666. The fire was so hot, it melted the
cathedral bells. After the fire, Sir Christopher Wren designed a new Saint Paul’s.

 I am sure all pupils of your group would like to visit London. Work
in pairs for 2 minutes and prepare three questions about the capital of
Great Britain. Then we shall read the questions and try to answer
them. Look at the pictures on the screen. They will help you.
 Учащиеся работают в парах и составляют по 3 вопроса о Лондоне
в течение 2 минут .Затем ученики зачитывают вопросы и
отвечают на них. В конце урока учитель предлагает выбрать
лучшего знатока Лондона.
9. Домашнее задание: составить диалог, упр. 7 стр. 73
10. Итог урока
