Тhe “Melting Pot”
The population of the country is more than 250 million people.
Americans are made up from nearly all races and nations. That’s why the USA is called
“the melting pot”. The largest cities are: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia,
Detroit, San- Francisco, Washington and others.
The sights of America :
Sears Tower.
 America is famous
for its skyscrapers.
The tallest building
in the world is in
Chicago. Its name
is the Sears Tower
The Twin Towers in New
York
 These
towers were
the proud of
America.
They were
destroyed by
airplanes.
Now you can
find only the
memorial to
these towers.
The statue of Liberty in New
York.
 It was built in New
York Harbor in 1886.
This Statue was a
gift from the people
of France. About 12
million immigrants
passed through New
York when they
came to America.
The Statue of Liberty
is Americas symbol
of Freedom.
The Empire State Building
 It is the most
famous building in
the world. It’s very
tall. Here you can
visit the
Observatory.
Visibility on clear
day- 80 miles. The
Observatory is on
the 102 nd floor of
the Empire state
Building. it’s the
worlds greatest TV
tower. It is 1, 454
feet tall.
The White House in
Washington D.C.
 The White House is
the beautiful home of
every President of
the United States.
This is the oldest
public building in
Washington D.C. It
has the most famous
address -1600
Pennsylvania
Avenue. Consist of
132 rooms. Open for
tours daily: 9.00 a.
m- 3. 45 p.m.

of flight, from the first plane
flown by the Wright brothers to
the Apollo space ship.
The Guggenheim museum
 It has one of the
world’s finest
collections of
modern and
contemporary art.
This museum was
designed by the
famous architect,
Frank Lloyd Wright.

The river is
the border
between the
USA and
Canada.
Sequoia National Park.
 Sequoias are
giant trees and
they’re very old.
They’re huge.
The one in the
picture is over a
thousand years
old. You saw a
car drive through
an arch in the
tree. This

California.

Do you want to climb to the tower
and see for miles?
Заключение
 The USA is a great country. There are
many unusual and beautiful places and
sights to see. The tourists of the world
are fond of changing in the American life.
It has an interesting history and full of
hope in the future. America is an
example of progress.
