Dear Parents,
Term two (2) has come to a close. I hope you all received your child’s midterm report cards
well. Next week, the week of March 21st, there will be no school. Term three (3) will
commence the week of March 28. It was nice meeting with you this past Tuesday for our
parent teacher meetings. I have passed your concerns and questions up to Administation.
I hope you are making full use of the OIS’s new on-line School Information Management system
(EDUPAGE). Hopefully, by now you are aware that you can check your child’s grades, test
results, attendance, homework and timetable online. If you need any help then please contact
us.
This Friday we will be holding Nooruz celebrations. Parents are invited to come and join the
festivities. There will be a bake sale, face painting, a photo booth as well as a performance
organised by our Music and Dance teacher. Parents are encouraged to arrive at 12pm.
We will be starting a series of external diagnostic assessments and tests over the next weeks
and months which will give us a better understanding of how our students are performing,
what their strengths and areas of improvement are so that we can personalize their learning
more effectively.
The first of these is called the CAT4 test. CAT4 is designed to assess the four main abilities that
underpin intellectual development and influence attainment. It measures four areas of
reasoning:
Quantitative
Verbal
Non-verbal and
Spatial, a skill important for success in STEM subjects and an ability that is not measured
by any other reasoning test for schools.
The test also predicts potential exam results at the end of year 11 and will provide targets to
work towards over the coming months!
It will be a 30 minute online assessment taken in school during the next few weeks. You will
receive an 8 page parent report with graphs and charts to help you understand the measures.
We need to register all our students as soon as possible as all students require to be tested at
the same time. Please send your registration fee of $25 to accounts by Friday 1 st of April, 2016.

тестов, посещаемость, домашние работы и расписание вашего ребенка. Если у вас

В эту пятницу мы празднуем праздник Нооруз. Родители приглашены отпраздновать с
нами этот весенний праздник. В этот день мы организуем продажу выпечки, фейс арт,
фото сессии, а также выступление детей. Всех родителей приглашаем к 12 ч.
В этом месяце у учащихся пройдет тестирование. Это даст нам наилучшее понимание
того, как наши ученики усваивают материал и поможет составить индивидуальный план
эффективного обчения для каждого ученика.
Первый тест, который мы плаируем провести – это тест CAT4. Этот тест оценивает прежде
всего стилевые особенности мышления, которые неразрывно связаны с особенностями
восприятия и личности в целом. Выявление стиля мышления по критерию "САТ4" является
непосредственно важным для практики обучения.
Стили мышления:




Математическое мышление
Речевое мышление
Невербальное мышление
Пространственное мышление
Каждый из этих типов мышления важен для досижения успеха в физике, химии и
математике. Такая способность мышления не измеряется ни одним школьным тестом.
Тест САТ4 также может прогнозировать возможные результаты государственных
экзаменов, которые пройдут по окончанию 9, 11 классов, и поможет ученикам поставить
новые цели на близжайшее будущее!
Тест продлиться 30-минут в онлайн режиме. Вы получите Отчет по тестам (Parent Report),
который будет состоять из 8 страниц, в содержании которого вы сможете увидеть ответы
в графиках и диаграммах.
Нам необходимо скорее зарегистрировать всех наших учеников для того, чтобы мы
смогли провести этот тест среди всех учеников одновременно. Просим Вас внести оплату
за регистрацию в размере $ 25 в кассу бухгалтерии школы до 1 Апреля 2016 года.
