Рабочая программа дисциплины «Страноведение Великобритании»
регионального компонента цикла ОПД.Р.01 составлена в соответствии
с Государственным образовательным стандартом высшего профессионального образования второго поколения по специальности 031001 –
«Филология», специализации (03) – «Зарубежная филология».
Пояснительная записка.
Рабочая программа представляет собой сборник организационнометодических документов по курсу «Страноведение Великобритании» и
предназначена для студентов третьего курса факультета РГФ по специальности 021700 «Английская филология» в соответствии с требованиями к обязательному минимуму содержания и уровню подготовки специалиста, предписываемыми Государственным образовательным стандартом высшего профессионального образования.
Программа содержит тематическое планирование курса, формы и содержание лекционных и практических занятий, предписывает требования к
уровню освоения содержания дисциплины, определяет формы промежуточного и итогового контролей.
Данный курс рассчитан на один семестр, 107 часов: 48 часов аудиторных занятий (лекций – 31 час, семинарских занятий – 17 часа) и 59 часов самостоятельной работы. Читается на английском языке.
Цель преподавания дисциплины:
- познакомить с особенностями исторического развития страны от древнейших
времен до наших дней, политическим строем современной Великобритании;
- рассмотреть вопросы культурного развития в сопряжении с гражданской
историей;
- привить уважение к обычаям и традициям страны.
Задачи изучения дисциплины:
- углубление приобретенных студентами знаний о стране изучаемого языка, знакомство с богатейшей историей Великобритании;
- формирование у студентов умений и навыков практического применения
знаний в будущей профессиональной деятельности.
Формы организации учебного процесса:
- лекции;
- аудиторные групповые (семинарские) занятия под руководством преподавателя;
- самостоятельное ознакомление с материалом, не входящим в лекционный
курс;
- промежуточные срезы, проводимые в форме тестов и контрольных работ.
Требования к уровню освоения содержания дисциплины:
Студенты должны:
- показать углубленные знания по курсу «Страноведение Великобритании»;
- показать владение английским языком в пределах программы, а также
тематической лексикой по курсу;
- уметь пользоваться справочной, лингвострановедческой литературой на
английском языке;
- уметь работать с различными типами текстовых редакторов, пользоваться
Интернетом.
Качество усвоения знаний проверяется как в устной, так и в письменной форме. Использование разных по форме устных и письменных практических заданий даёт основания для объективной оценки знаний каждого студента, позволяет самому студенту представить реальный уровень своих знаний, стимулирует подготовку к итоговой аттестации. Разработаны контрольно-измерительные материалы по отдельным темам и финальный тест по
всему курсу. В конце семестра студенты сдают экзамен (11,5 часа). На экзамен выносятся 44 вопроса.
Оцениваются следующие виды и результаты деятельности студентов:
− работа на семинарских занятиях,
− выполнение самостоятельной работы,
− тестовые, контрольные работы, результаты экзамена.

Актуальность и значимость дисциплины
Дисциплина «Страноведение США» является вспомогательной при
изучении базовых филологических дисциплин (история и теория языка, стилистика и др.) и планируется как курс, рассматривающий основные исторические и социокультурные аспекты жизни США с целью обеспечить общее
знакомство студентов с культурой и историей страны изучаемого языка.
Программа определяет тематическое планирование, формы и содержание занятий, регламентирует аудиторную и самостоятельную работу студентов,
предписывает требования к уровню освоения содержания дисциплины и
формы контроля.
Соответствие Государственному образовательному стандарту высшего
профессионального образования
Примерная программа по дисциплине «Страноведение США» предназначена для студентов четвертого курса факультета РГФ по специальности
021700 «Филология» (английский язык и литература) в соответствии с Государственным образовательным стандартом высшего профессионального образования.
Цели и задачи учебной дисциплины
Целью дисциплины является ознакомление студентов с историей, социальной, политической, экономической и культурной жизнью США как одной из наиболее значимых в образовательном отношении англоязычных
стран; углубить знания о важнейших событиях из истории американского народа, а также различных сторонах его жизни. Данная цель предполагает развитие социокультурной и лингвокультурной компетенции (владение знаниями об особенностях культуры стран изучаемого языка и специфике общения
на изучаемом языке) и профессиональной компетенции специалиста по межкультурной коммуникации.
Задачи курса предполагают:
d) создать фоновые знания и концептуальную базу в области истории,
географии, политики, экономики и культуры США;
e) сформировать знания в области взаимосвязи различных факторов в
американской культуре;
f) выявить связь лингвистических и экстралингвистических факторов в
развитии американского варианта языка.
Место дисциплины в профессиональной подготовке специалиста
Курс лингвострановедения является одним из компонентов комплексной теоретико-лингвистической, практической и информационноаналитической подготовки филолога, преподавателя английского языка и пе-
реводчика в соответствии с общей квалификационной характеристикой и
требованиями к его профессиональной и специальной подготовленности.
Курс «Страноведения США» тесно связан с другими дисциплинами
подготовки специалиста. Настоящая программа базируется на соответствующих теоретических и практических курсах программы профессиональной
и специальной подготовки филолога.
Структура учебной дисциплины
Дисциплина «Страноведения США» включает лекционные и семинарские занятия, а акже самостоятельную работу студентов по темам курса.
Особенности изучения учебной дисциплины
Отбор содержания дисциплины проводится с опорой на знания, получаемые студентами в курсе истории, зарубежной литературы, при этом многие актуальные вопросы рассматриваются в образовательном аспекте.
Лекции читаются на английском языке. Содержательное наполнение
дисциплины обусловлено как задачами дисциплины, так и взаимодействием
ее с общефилологическими дисциплинами.
Предлагаемая дисциплина ориентируется на коммуникативнопрагматический подход в обучении. Общеобразовательная и воспитательная
составляющие программы реализуются параллельно и в комплексе с профессиональной составляющей в рамках знакомства студентов с культурой стран
изучаемого языка, в расширении общего кругозора студентов, обогащении их
сведениями о быте и традициях страны изучаемого языка.
Формы организации учебного процесса по данной дисциплине
Дисциплина «Страноведение США» предполагает следующие формы
занятий:
1. лекции,
2. аудиторные групповые занятия под руководством
преподавателя,
3. обязательная самостоятельная работа студента по заданию
преподавателя, выполняемая во внеаудиторное время, в том
числе с использованием технических средств обучения,
4. индивидуальная самостоятельная работа студента под
руководством преподавателя,
5. индивидуальные консультации.
Взаимосвязь аудиторной и самостоятельной работы студентов при изучении дисциплины
Активная самостоятельная работа студентов является одной из предпосылок эффективности аудиторной работы, усвоения материала и развития
творческого подхода к учебному процессу, необходимому для будущего специалиста. Курс предполагает выполнение студентами индивидуальных заданий и коллективных проектов.
Самостоятельная работа предполагает следующие виды деятельности:
1. работа с учебными материалами (тексты, аудио- и видеоматериалы);
2. работа с разными видами словарей и справочными пособиями;
3. написание и представление докладов, рефератов, эссе;
4. проектная работа;
5. выполнение
практических
заданий,
составление
классификационных таблиц и схем.
Для самостоятельной подготовки к итоговой аттестации студентам предлагается список специальных вопросов по отдельным проблемам и список
литературы для их подготовки.
Требования к уровню освоения содержания дисциплины
В соответствии с Государственным образовательным стандартом высшего профессионального образования, студенты должны
1) владеть фоновыми знаниями и концептуальной базой в области
географии США;
2) ориентироваться в основных этапах истории США;
3) знать политическое и экономическое устройство США;
4) разбираться в дискуссионных вопросах демографии и социальной
политики США;
5) иметь представление о культуре США в ее историческом развитии и
современном состоянии, в сопряжении с гражданской историей и
историей народа, говорящего на данном языке;
6) уметь
пользоваться
научной,
справочной,
методической
литературой на родном и иностранном языках;
7) владеть методами информационного поиска (в том числе в системе
Интернет);
8) владеть
навыками
компьютерной
обработки
данных
и
статистическими методами обработки информации;
9) уметь работать с различными типами текстовых редакторов.

Виды контроля знаний студентов и их отчетности
Контроль знаний студентов ведется на практических занятиях по языку
по итогам выполнения самостоятельной работы, контрольных работ и срезов,
промежуточных аттестаций.
Качество усвоения знаний проверяется как в письменной, так и в устной форме. Проведение разных по форме и по объему работ (подготовка докладов и проектов, написание эссе и рефератов, выполнение контрольных заданий и тестов) дисциплинирует студента и даёт основания для объективной
оценки знаний каждого студента, позволяет самому студенту представить реальный уровень своих знаний, стимулирует подготовку к итоговой аттестации.
Курс завершается зачетом, на котором проверяются полученные знания
и степень усвоения понятийного аппарата. К зачету допускаются студенты,
выполнившие следующие итоговые практические задания:
1. комплексная контрольная работа (по всем темам курса);
2. индивидуальная проектная работа по выбранной теме и
представление ее в PowerPoint;
3. написание реферата или эссе.
В процессе аттестации (зачет) студентам предлагаются билет с двумя
вопросами по курсу дисциплины.
Критерии оценки знаний студентов
Курс «Страноведение США» предполагает комплексную оценку знаний и умений студентов.
Во-первых, оцениваются лингвистические навыки:
1.
говорение (умение адекватно и грамматически правильно
передать информацию)
2.
правильная артикуляция страноведческих понятий.
Во-вторых, проверяются страноведческие знания по изученным темам.
Оцениваются следующие виды и результаты деятельности студентов:
1. работа на практических занятиях (40 % общей оценки),
2. выполнение самостоятельных заданий (20 %),
3. контрольные и проверочные работы, результаты зачета (40%).

Тематический план дает представление о последовательности изучения
учебной дисциплины и характеризует структуру расчета часов различных
форм организации учебного процесса (лекционные, семинарские, и практические занятия, индивидуальные занятия, контрольные работы, самостоятельная работа студентов и др.). Выбор комплекса форм организации учебного процесса для каждой конкретной учебной дисциплины осуществляется в
соответствии со спецификой ее содержания и задач.

природа, рельеф, реки, озера. Геополитическое деление: регионы, штаты. Характеристика геополитических регионов, их особенности, крупные промышленные и культурные центры.
Тема 2 «История США от доколумбовой Америки до Гражданской войны» (2 часа)
Коренное население. Первые европейцы. Период колонизации: испанские, голландские, французские и английские поселения. Английские колонии: Новая Англия, Центральные колонии, Южные колонии. Противостояние
с Францией. Противостояние с Британской Империей. Война за независимость.
Признание независимости США. Рождение нации, формирование правительства. Война 1812 года. Покорение Запада. Рост и укрепление демократических традиций. Война между Севером и Югом за объединение страны и
